A Card from Logan

Airports always awaken a certain feeling in me. There’s a peculiar awareness that surfaces in transit—moving between places, surrounded by strangers—that makes me feel a little existential, not in a bad way, just in a who-am-i-and-what-am-i-doing-here sort of way.
Today, after landing from the first leg of my journey, the girl who was sitting next to me handed me a card.
I had noticed her drawing during the flight, quietly focused. I hadn’t realized she was thinking of me. The card featured a hand-drawn airplane and a message that read:
“Thanks for being our flight buddy. Enjoy the rest of your trip. ♥ Logan and KT.”
That was all. A small, unexpected gift. And yet, stepping off the plane, I felt slightly stunned—as though something sacred had brushed against me. I wandered through the terminal slowly, letting it sink in.
A person I didn’t know had noticed me—not my name, not my story, just the fact that I was there beside her. She chose to reach out with kindness and a quiet, deliberate act of connection.
All of us are making our way through life, each on a unique path. But when we pause to connect, even briefly, it changes things. It lightens the journey.
So thank you, Logan, wherever you’re headed next, for the shared connection.
